The decision to bring Kasper Dolberg to the ArenA has been paying off, so Ajax Amsterdam is once again looking to Scandinavia for its next young transfer target. His name? Alexander Isak.
Ajax scouts were watching the young striker at today’s game at Gothenborg, which Isak’s AIK lost 1-0. The youngster did not get on the scoresheet, but he still stands among the league’s top ten goalscorers with 9 strikes in 20 matches.
Isak, who recently turned just 17, was born to Eritrean parents in Solna, the part of Stockholm where AIK is based, and has never played for another club. The 6’3″ target man was described by his teammate, Nigerian striker Chinedu Obasi, as “the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic”. The integrity of that statement can be backed by the fact that Ajax is not the only club hunting for Isak’s signature.
Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Chelsea, Villareal, and even Sunderland have been scouting the youngster. Allsvenskan, the Swedish top tier, runs from April to November, so Isak’s season is quickly coming to an end and he will surely have a lot of offers to go through as soon as the upcoming winter transfer window.
